Abrasive Blasting & Coating Services

Professional abrasive blasting, sandblasting, and coating services for tanks, pipelines, vessels, and steel structures across all industries

Professional Abrasive Blasting Services for Industrial Assets

Coatings fail when the surface underneath isn't ready for them. Rust, old paint, mill scale, salts, and other contaminants all sit between a new coating and the steel it's meant to protect, and no coating system performs to spec on top of them. Abrasive blasting strips a surface back to bare metal and gives it the profile a coating actually needs to bond, whether that's for a new installation or a maintenance recoat.

Innovations Coatings brings together two of UAE's leading asset management brands, Gopinath and Posco. Together, we've handled projects across tanks, pipelines, vessels, and structural steel for 50+ years. Every job runs through the same surface preparation and coating process, checked at each stage before the next one starts.

Our Services

Wet Abrasive Blasting

Wet abrasive blasting adds water to the abrasive media and compressed air stream, which knocks down the dust cloud that comes with dry blasting. That makes it a fit for sites where airborne dust needs to stay under control eg: near occupied buildings, in confined spaces, or on projects working close to environmental limits.
The process strips old coatings, corrosion, and surface contaminants, and leaves a rough texture - a need for the new coating to grip onto perfectly. The difference is what happens in the air around the job, not what happens on the steel.

Where wet blasting helps:

  • Cuts airborne dust significantly compared to dry blasting
  • Works in dust-restricted or occupied environments
  • Strips coatings and corrosion effectively
  • Prepares surfaces ahead of recoating
  • Fits maintenance work on live or partially operational sites
  • Can reduce cleanup time and material on suitable projects

Ultra High-Pressure Water Jetting

Water jetting uses pressurized water alone, no abrasive media, to strip coatings and contamination from a surface. It's a separate method from abrasive blasting, and we deploy it as an alternative or a complement depending on the substrate, the coating being removed, and any restrictions on media use at a site. On some projects it runs ahead of blasting; on others it replaces blasting entirely.

Protective Coating Application After Abrasive Blasting

Blasting only solves half the problem. The coating applied afterward is what actually protects the asset, so we run application as part of the same project scope rather than handing it off separately.

Airless Spray Coating
High-pressure application for large surface areas, giving even film thickness across tanks, vessels, and structural steel without thinning the coating.

Conventional Spray Coating
Air-assisted spray for finer control on complex geometries and detail work, where finish quality matters as much as coverage speed

Brush & Roller Application
Manual application for touch-ups, stripe coats, and areas where spray equipment isn't practical, including edges, welds, and hard-to-reach spots that need extra coating thickness.

Metal Spray Coating
Thermal spray application of zinc, aluminium, or alloy coatings for long-term corrosion protection on assets exposed to harsh or marine environments.

Why Choose Innovations Coatings for Abrasive Blasting

We run multiple blasting media, including garnet, steel grit, aluminium oxide, and stainless steel grit, and pick the one that fits the substrate and the coating spec rather than defaulting to one option. Dry and wet blasting are both available, selected by project environment. Blasting and coating are delivered as one coordinated process, so there's no gap between surface prep and application where a surface can flash-rust or pick up contamination again.

Surface preparation is carried out to the cleanliness level specified for the project, with inspection and application controls at each stage of the process.

Our yards in Mafraq, Ras Al Khor, and KEZAD support projects across the UAE with the equipment and media capacity that abrasive blasting and coating work needs, delivered through our Gopinath and Posco brands.

Wet Abrasive Blasting Services
Wet abrasive blasting combines abrasive media, water, and compressed air to remove coatings, corrosion, and contaminants while keeping airborne dust well below what dry blasting produces.
Benefits

  • Reduced airborne dust
  • Suitable for dust-restricted environments
  • Effective coating and corrosion removal
  • Surface preparation ahead of recoating
  • Fits selected industrial maintenance applications
  • Can lower cleanup requirements on the right site
Case Study
Abrasive Blasting & Coating Projects
Delivering Long-Term Corrosion Protection for Critical Underground Pipelines.

Abrasive blasting removes rust, old coatings, mill scale, and other contaminants from a metal surface and creates the profile a new coating needs to bond properly. It's used before coating tanks, pipelines, vessels, and structural steel.

Sandblasting is one type of abrasive blasting that uses sand as the media. Abrasive blasting is the broader term and covers other media too, including garnet, steel grit, aluminium oxide, and stainless steel grit, each suited to different substrates and coating requirements.

Wet abrasive blasting adds water to the abrasive media and compressed air stream to cut down airborne dust. It's used on sites where dust control matters, including occupied or environmentally restricted locations, while still stripping coatings and corrosion effectively.

No. Ultra high-pressure water jetting uses pressurized water without abrasive media. It's a separate surface preparation method, used as an alternative or alongside abrasive blasting depending on the project.

Media selection depends on the substrate, the coating system going on afterward, and the surface cleanliness level specified for the project. We select from garnet, steel grit, aluminium oxide, and stainless steel grit based on those factors.

Yes. Blasting and coating run as one coordinated process on our projects, including airless spray, conventional spray, brush and roller, and metal spray application.
